Change management is the focus on leveraging personal strengths, while simultaneously covering your flanks. The concept of change management hinges around personal leadership and the concept of improving ones self. This blog is not logging the events and activities of MGMT 471, but rather reflections on personal experiences and reactions to those experiences.
Change models: A convenient way to explain something much more complex. The only constant is change, in order to realize full individual potential it is necessary to step outside your comfort zone. Do something different! Anxiety is normal for people who are experiencing change; this known as constructive anxiety. I agree with this concept, especially during finals week and other stressful times in school. It is normal for people to get stressed and feel anxious, there is no reason that you SHOULDN'T feel this way. The major problem arises when people have prolonged feelings of anxiety or depression. Anxiety for an extended period of time can result in decreased motivation.
OUTLAW (rascal, hooligan, badass, criminal, felon, perp, unsub (Criminal Minds)- Synonyms typically are surrounding the illegality concept of outlaw behavior. On the flip side, a ban is another way the word outlaw can be interpreted. This shows the different ways in which the human brain thinks. This is important because each individual is capable of perceiving the world in a different light, and it is this diversity that nurtures the culture of tolerance and learning that we experience at Seattle University.
Training - The class structure of MGMT 471 is designed such that it avoids the typical pitfalls that training comes with. In order to sidestep these problems, individuals LEAP ahead of the curve to realize their full potential.
The outcomes of service learning are exactly what you make of it. If you don't want to do anything, than don't. If you do, do. Personal insight, social awareness, and skill application work in cohesion on the best service learning projects. In other words, the sweet spot of service learning is a little piece of everything.
